Baked Corn Dogs

  • 4 all beef hot dogs cut in half
  • 8 wooden sticks
  • 1/2 cup cornmeal
  • 1/2 cup gluten free flour
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 4 tbsp dairy free butter (earth or smart balance)
  • 1/4 cup milk of choice
  • 2-3 tbsp honey
Preheat oven to 400. Mix together dry ingredients in a bowl and cut dairy free butter into the dry mix with 2 forks till you have a crumbly mixture. Add milk and honey. Stir to combine. Pour dough out on a piece of parchment and cover with another sheet of parchment. Roll out dough to 1/4 an inch thick. Cut dough to wrap around each half hot dog. Make sure there are no holes and insert a stick. Bake for 15-20 minutes on a parchment lined sheet pan. Turn once halfway through cooking. Remove when the corn dogs are golden brown. Cool slightly and serve with dip of choice. Enjoy!
